We then kit people out with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners, give them a 30 minute safety briefing and training and let them loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees. Of course, instructors are always on hand, regularly patrolling the forests (not in monkey suits unfortunately!)

The result is spectacular. The Go Ape experience gets the adrenalin pumping, gets people out of their comfort zones and above all (no pun intended), it’s just great fun.

Brown Lake (Lake Bummiera) is a natural perched lake, made brown by the native tea trees. The lake is a popular swimming and picnic location.

Moreton Island is famous for its Sand Boarding and Sand Tobogganing.

Sand tobogganing is where you sit or lie on a specially made sand board with a waxed bottom.
Sand Surfing is where you stand up on the sand boards, similar to snow boarding.

Moreton Island has a number of places where you can participate:

The Small Sand hills and The Desert are better suited to beginners and families.
The Big Sand hills are on the southern end of the island, and some of these sand hills can be up to 100m high.

For the more experienced you can reach speed in excess of 60kph.

Also remember to take a break at the top and enjoy the magnificent views provided.

Moreton Island Diving and Snorkeling, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Moreton Island, is the ideal location for diving and snorkeling. The Island has offshore reefs, several shipwrecks and an impressive variety of marine life and the water is clear year round.

Dive or snorkel the Curtin Artificial Reef and the Tangalooma Wrecks, both man-made and closer to shore making for of the best viewing of marine life. Most diving is done on the north side of Moreton Island where you can find Flinders Reef, the only true coral reef near Brisbane accessible by boat. The rocky outcrop Smiths Rock has several wrecks, such as the Saint Paul, Marietta Dal and the Aarhus.

Access on the Island is via Boast or 4WD along the beaches.

Kitesurfing, Famara, Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

Famara is located in the North West of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

Famara beach is a kitesurfers paradise whatever your experience with an excellent community.

In the summer consistent northerly winds blow cross-shore and the waves are smaller, although a good location all year round. At low tide the shallow waters and large beach area make it ideal for kitesurfing with very smooth water whilst the further out you go the bigger the the waves for the more experienced kiteboarder.

Crabble Corn Mill is a working watermill that sits on the River Dour in the village of River . The mill was built in 1812, although it is thought earlier mills existed on the same site. You can go on a tour and see the original millstones that still grind wholemeal flour today.

After a tour of the mill go for a walk in the river gardens and stop off for a cup of tea in the tea rooms.
