
Spain has a coastline that borders the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The country covers a total area of 505,957 sq km with a coastline of 4,964 km much of which is graced with beautiful sandy beaches.

As well as mainland Spain you have two Island groups. The first are the Balearic Islands (Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera), located near the coast of Catalonia in the Mediterranean. The second Island group is the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Grand Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura), located off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. The Canary Islands provide a good all year round choice.
